Denia has won its reputation as one of the Mediterranean's yachting capitals par excellence. As a yachting town, Denia is an indispensable resort for the most important Mediterranean regattas, providing an unbeatable spectacle. Improvements carried out in this harbour bring sea-lovers the enjoyment of a new yachting club (Club Nautico), which has more than 300 moorings.

The Balearic Isles are closer still. Since the summer of 2001, a trip to the islands is now quicker, more comfortable, and safer. This is all down to the inauguration of the new transport service 'super fast ferry', a regular passenger line making daily Denia/Ibiza and Denia/Palma de Mallorca one-way and return trips. Denia has almost 200 kilometres of coastline. To the north of the town, there are strikingly wide beaches of fine sand and shallow waters offering myriad range of water sports that cater for most requirements. To the south lie a series of small coves, with crystal clear waters, along the rocky coast, known as Les Rotes. The National park of Montgó Mountain is the major landmark of the area.

There's also two 18-hole golf courses in the vicinity, the Club del Golf La Sella, designed by José Maria Olazabal, and is considered as one of the finest and most challenging courses in Spain. The other, Campo de Golf Oliva Nova is worthy of equally high merit, benefiting from being designed by Seve Bellesteros.

A unique show, involving Bulls being set loose in and the Port, considered to be a Celebration of National Touristic Interest. And, as a culmination of these celebrations, there are floats in the street with lights and colour, which spread happiness and laughter throughout the audience.

In August Moors y Cristianos (Moors and Christians) pass through the streets of Denia, dressed up with their best clothes. Fun and colourist celebrations dedicated to Sant Roc, which attract visitors from all over the world every year.
